Luxury Experiences Turks & Caicos
What inspired you to pursue a career in this industry, and how has your perspective as a woman shaped your vision and hospitality approach?
Growing up in Canada with parents from Trinidad has given me a deep appreciation for the rich cultural traditions and vibrant spirit of the Caribbean. Traveling throughout the region has shown me how each destination is uniquely its own, yet the warmth, friendliness, and happiness of the people remain a common thread. When we founded Luxury Experiences Turks and Caicos, it was at a time when the island was still a hidden gem for many travelers. I wanted to share the unique culture and charm of this destination, recognizing a need to offer travelers something more distinctive than the typical, well-known spots they had already explored.
As a female entrepreneur and a mother of two young boys, I quickly saw the importance of family-friendly travel experiences that cater to the needs of everyone in the family. This personal experience shaped my approach to creating seamless, personalized trips. When I travel, I always aim to immerse myself in the destination, treating it as a temporary home away from home. This is the kind of experience I want to help Travel Advisors create for their guests visiting Turks and Caicos—an experience that feels both authentic and comforting, just like home.
What is your favorite part of working in luxury hospitality, and what keeps you passionate about continuing to evolve your brand and guest experience?
Luxury hospitality is a true passion of mine, largely because travelers and their advisors are so intentional and thoughtful in their planning. They don’t simply book the first option they find—they consider every detail of their vacation, from accommodations and activities to dining experiences. This thoughtful approach mirrors how I personally plan my own travels, and I love extending that care to others, ensuring every detail is perfectly thought through.
Turks and Caicos offers an incredible variety of experiences, from stunning resorts and villas to exceptional culinary offerings and, of course, the breathtaking beaches. But what really excites me are the wellness and cultural experiences available, all set within the natural beauty of the island. It’s this rich, diverse offering that I am truly passionate about sharing with others.
What is a signature experience at one of your properties that truly reflects your personal touch or leadership?
For pre-arrival planning for travel to Turks and Caicos, we have a dedicated team that handles the majority of the work, which I closely oversee. However, there are times when I jump in and take full charge, especially when I get to be a part of something truly special. One of my favorite moments was helping a husband plan a surprise family trip for his wife. The most recent one was this past Christmas when we worked on a full itinerary that was presented on Christmas morning for a trip in April 2025. I was told that the wife was so moved she was in tears—she was beyond excited! Another memorable experience was working with a wonderful gentleman who owned his own company but rarely used a computer. Helping people create these unforgettable experiences, filled with emotions and memories that last a lifetime, is what I truly love about my work.
Can you share a moment when being a woman in this industry gave you a unique perspective or advantage in creating exceptional guest experiences?
Being both an entrepreneur and a woman has taught me to take a holistic approach to everything I do. I focus not only on the big picture but also on the small details—especially when it comes to scheduling and the logistics that ensure a smooth, seamless trip. Our expertise lies in pre-planning, and as a woman, I’m naturally inclined to think ahead and organize every aspect so that everything falls into place. For me, two key factors are essential: 1) attention to detail and 2) clear communication. We make sure to provide all the information travelers need, so they know exactly what to expect. But we also understand that things can change, so our team is always in constant communication with everyone involved to make adjustments as needed and keep everyone informed throughout the process.
What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned as a female leader in luxury travel, and how has it shaped the way you do business?
I pride myself on staying ahead of business trends and continuously growing as a female entrepreneur and leader. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is resilience. The travel industry is ever-changing, and as a niche business, we feel these shifts even more acutely. As a female leader, adaptability is key—we must always be ready to pivot, evolve with the industry, and meet our clients’ needs with precision.
While businesses and industries evolve, certain core elements remain essential to success. For us, three key ingredients have consistently proven vital:
Attention to Detail – We personally experience every activity, dining option, accommodation, and supplier we recommend. This hands-on approach ensures we can vouch for the quality and service firsthand.
Organization – Clear roles, structured timelines, and seamless coordination within our team allow us to deliver a flawless experience.
Responsiveness – Whether working with Travel Advisors planning for their clients or directly assisting travelers, being readily available and responsive is a top priority.
By embracing these principles, we continue to set the standard for excellence in luxury travel, ensuring our clients receive nothing but the best.
