We’re excited to say the Turks and Caicos have been identified as among the best Caribbean islands for health nuts by Business Insider!
While the article mentions the many spas and health retreats that exist here in TCI, as locals we know that if you want to keep in shape while on vacation, there is no better place to be than the island of Providenciales.
In fact, much-needed vacation downtime here can give you the chance to establish healthy habits you can take back home with you.
Here are just a few of the many ways to stay in shape during your time here.
Go for a run
Grace Bay Beach is often ranked the best beach in the world. However, when we say there are miles of powdery white sand, we’re not sure if anyone believes us. There’s only one way to find out: run the length ot it!
It’s possible to run along the entire length of the beach. You’ll encounter and have the chance to make friends with many of the regulars out jogging on the beach or on Grace Bay Road.
Try Standup Paddling (SUP)
SUP is now popular with a wide variety of people from all walks of life. Why? Although SUP can take some time to master, it’s a great workout, especially for your core.
SUP is also popular with women because it’s easier for them than men to master – women typically have a lower center of balance than do men, which makes it much easier to get out and about on a surfboard.
Do beach yoga
If keeping fit sounds like a lot of work when you’re supposed to be on vacation, why not try beach yoga? Core fusion and beach yoga classes are offered through Wymara Turks and Caicos.
Parrot Cay combines beach yoga with full wellness services.
